About Dr Franck

Hi everyone!

I have been a veterinarian for more than 15 years, and for all this time, I wish to help animals and their owners too…

So how can I help you?

By creating this site, I would like to give you tools with education!

To educate yourself is to learn new knowledge. It is to develop a new passion. It’s also about understanding what happens when you call or go to a veterinary clinic.

The goal is to better understand them with their different problems, their functioning and their psychology. Ultimately, we all want to make them feel good.

Each pet is unique, so you have to relearn each time. This is probably part of the fun of it all.

Visit this site to learn more about your favorite pet, ask a question, leave a photo, etc.

Please note: the advice and suggestions you will find on this site are general. The reason is that there must be a veterinarian-client-patient relationship. If you don’t know what that means, check out this link

In many cases, a visit to your veterinarian will be the best thing for your pet. Diagnosis of disease is not recommended.

Who am I?

First of all, the official biography:

I graduated in veterinary medicine from the University of Montreal in 2004. Since then, I have worked in various veterinary facilities (large and small) and have treated a multitude of different animal species (cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, rodents/small mammals, birds of all kinds, various reptiles). I have now become an external consultant for these same facilities.

The unofficial biography:

I am known by many names…

Francis, Dr. Lagacé, Dr. Francis, Dr. L. I am, like the vast majority of veterinarians I know, passionate about animals and their health.

In my spare time, I take care of my little family first and foremost, and the rest of the time I have left is devoted to running and cycling.

Quick questions and answers

Write me a quick question (1-2 sentences only, it must be related to your pet’s health), and I’ll answer you the same way (1-2 sentences only) as soon as I have a few free minutes. Sometimes it will be quick, sometimes not…

Species that will be covered: dogs, cats, birds, small mammals (ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, degu, chinchilla, hedgehogs, flying phalangers) and reptiles.

Species not seen by this site (not for lack of interest, rather for lack of in-depth knowledge): amphibians, fish, invertebrates, primates, Vietnamese pigs.
